TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA, August 6, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- On Thursday, August 13, Toronto designer, facilitator and data visualization artist Clarence Kitt will host a special queer edition of Map The Room, an intimate dinner experience designed around the 22 people attending.

Map The Room: Queer Banquet brings strangers together for a family-style feast at Konia Kitchen and Bar. Before the event, each guest completes a questionnaire about their experiences, interests and perspectives. Kitt uses those responses to personally shape the seating plan, introductions, visual maps, prompts, games and puzzles created for the room.

Ang Lee’s and Andrew Ahn’s versions of The Wedding Banquet helped set the mood for this edition, which will explore queer expression and connection through the experiences represented across one room.

“Meeting new people does not need to start from zero,” said Kitt. “Guests enter the dinner and can immediately see the connections they share with other people in the room.”

Map The Room began in February 2026 and has hosted four full-capacity dinners. Its most recent edition was presented in collaboration with the Asian Queer Alliance. The independently produced series offers a friendship-focused alternative to large-scale social events and dating-oriented mixers, with every part of the experience created specifically for each group of guests.
